Technical Writer - Data Center Site Documentation

Job Title: Technical Writer
Location: MONCKS CORNER, SC
Pay rate: 66.26/hr
Position Description:
With a unique cross-functional perspective, technical writers play a big part with my client, tying together many vital but disparate parts of my client's ecosystems. Data center technical writers perform tasks such as managing documentation projects and writing / editing procedures, technical guides, policies, engineering documents, training modules, etc.
Responsibilities:
Identify the latest versions of documents, and obtain review / approval to publish or retire drafts (via an electronic content management system). Meet document project milestones in a timely manner; proactively engage with the project team and provide status reports as requested. As requested, edit and revise documents to improve grammar, style, and punctuation. Skill/Experience/Education
Mandatory BS / BA degree (or equivalent practical experience) plus 5 years of experience. Ability to understand technology and basic business needs. Demonstrated experience in copy editing documents in American English. Experience using content management systems and working with documentation sets / processes.
Desired Degree in technical communication, linguistics, journalism, engineering, science, or similar field. Ability to understand technology, demonstrated by having been employed as a technical writer, engineer, scientist, or similar. Understanding of operational needs in large-scale industrial settings; understanding of the data center life cycle. Experience in process improvement and facilitation. Experience in management (of people, projects, or programs), preferably in a global setting. Experience with Google Apps (Docs, Sheets, Drawings, Calendar, Mail, Drive, etc.). Knowledge of other languages.


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
